About the role
Casual, variable-hours Nursery Assistant role supporting children aged 6 months to 4 years at St Anne’s College Day Nursery. Duties focus on EYFS-compliant care, safeguarding, developmental activities, observation, personal-care routines, hygiene, equipment, and parent communication. Current advertised pay is £13.45 per hour.
What you’ll do
- Comply with the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework and practice guidelines.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and keep relevant training current.
- Provide age-appropriate play and activities supporting children’s mental and physical development.
- Report and record information about children’s progress and development.
- Support the wellbeing of children both independently and as part of the staff team.
- Identify and assist children with special difficulties or disabilities.
- Supervise meals, rest periods, toileting, and washing routines.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Keep toys, books, and equipment clean and in good repair, removing and reporting damaged items.
- Build positive relationships and communicate with parents during collection, drop-off, and meetings.
- Encourage parents to be involved in the nursery.
