About the role
Non-stipendiary Research and Junior Research Fellowships for early career researchers in Sciences (Medical Sciences Division and MPLS) at Wolfson College, Oxford. Up to twelve positions available for researchers with doctorates holding full-time University of Oxford contracts or full-time external research funding. Three-year initial terms with renewal potential. Positions designed to support early-stage researchers transitioning to established scholars, not suitable for sabbatical leave or those already holding Professorships.
What you’ll do
- Conduct independent research in Sciences
- Demonstrate financial independence and secure funding
- Maintain full-time research engagement with University of Oxford or external funding
- Spend greater part of academic year in Oxford
- Notify College of changes in circumstances
- Act as College Advisor to graduate students (Research Fellows)
- Sit on nearly all College committees
What they’re looking for
Candidates must hold a doctorate. Junior Research Fellowships: fewer than 5 years since doctorate, or up to 10 years with documented career interruption (childbirth, family commitments, illness, military service). Research Fellowships: 5-10 years since doctorate, or up to 10 years with documented career interruption; must have sufficient postdoctoral experience and be progressing to established scholar status.
